In the final days of August, I met a beautiful young woman heading into her senior year of high school and cannot remember the last time I had so much fun. McKenna and I fearlessly braved veering (just slightly) off the path at Minnehaha Falls in search of the perfect location to get “the shot” with flowing waterfalls behind her.
Best of all, we had absolutely perfect weather for the occasion. If you have spent any time enjoying Minnesota summers, you know that it is a delicate balance of not too hot, and not too humid and these nights are very limited in the later part of the season.
We had clear skies, lovely golden hour sunshine, and enough warmth to be comfortable without worrying about battling scorching temperatures and the humid hair frizz.
The park itself was bustling with loads of other visitors and so we worked quickly in the hot spots to snap a few pics without being disruptive to the others who were there to enjoy the view. I am so proud of this gallery and having had the opportunity to take McKenna’s photos at such an important milestone of her young life. After graduation, she’s thinking of heading into real estate—which given how personable and natural she is to talk to, I think will be a great choice of career.
Here’s to the class of 2027 and starting off new life journeys!
